A video showcasing 'polyphonic overtone singer' Anna-Maria Hefele's feat of singing two separate notes at the same time has gone viral.
The strange technique displayed in the black and white video is also known as 'throat singing'.
It allows the vocalist to establish a fundamental, backing note of which an overtone note is expressed over the top of it. When moving through a scale of different notes, an almost ethereal effect is realised.
As well as her skills as a classically trained singer, Hefele is also a musician adept at playing the mandolin, harp, Schwegel, didgeridoo and piano.
