Daredevil free diver Guillaume Nery has done the unthinkable… diving 285ft underwater with no air tanks. In the video, the 32-year-old Frenchman is seen gracefully floating like an astronaut in space while holding his breath.
Guillaume filmed the incredible aqua aerobics in French Polynesia in the Pacific Ocean for the film Ocean Gravity in a bid to show the similarities between the marine world and space.
Teaming up with his 35-year-old wife Julie Gautier, Guillaume said: “Free diving seems to be accessible only to aliens or extraordinary people, but it's not.”
“Everyone can try and enjoy free diving, at his own level. I would say the main difficult thing is to overcome the mental barrier.
“You think it's impossible but you are able to do much more than what you believe possible."
He added: “One of my dreams is to be able to fly and look at our planet from space, or even being able to discover a new planet,” he said.
“Doing this film was a kind of realisation of this fantasy, but on our planet underwater.”
