Vicky Pryce stripped of official honour

An official honour given to Chris Huhne’s ex-wife Vicky Pryce is removed

Vicky Pryce, the ex-wife of Chris Huhne, who was given the honour ‘Companion of the Order of the Bath’, has been stripped of the official honour.

Vicky Pryce was given this honour in 2009 in regards to services to economics.

The Forfeiture Committee for honours said that the honour for Vicky Pryce has been removed.

It is understood there are assessments made in regards to whether an individual who has an honour may have brought the honour into disrepute.

Vicky Pryce was released from prison in May, as was Chris Huhne, following the speeding points incident.

UK Prime Minister David Cameron handed the Forfeiture Committee’s pointers onto HM The Queen.

An announcement which was published in the London Gazette stated: “The Queen has directed that the appointment of Vicky, Mrs Pryce, to be a Member of the Civil Division of the Third Class, or Companion, of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, dated June 13 2009, shall be cancelled and annulled and that her name shall be erased from the Register of the said Order."

Vicky Pryce was sent to prison for perverting the course of justice. This relates to her accepting Chris Huhne’s speeding points.

She was handed an eight month jail sentence in March and served two months.

Chris Huhne was also jailed for perverting the course of justice.

In May, Vicky Pryce left jail in Kent, while Chris Huhne left prison in Gloucestershire.
