Bradley Manning, the US soldier who gave classified documents to WikiLeaks, has been found guilty of espionage among a number of other charges. However, he has been found not guilty of aiding the enemy, which was the most serious charge against him.
Bradley Manning, aged 25, was given the verdicts on Tuesday, 30th July.
The judge who was at Fort Meade was Judge Denise Lind.
His family said in a statement: “While we are obviously disappointed in today’s verdicts, we are happy that Judge Lind agreed with us that Brad never intended to help America’s enemies in any way. Brad loves his country and was proud to wear its uniform.”
It has been reported that Bradley Manning could face spending the rest of his days in jail. This relates to those charges against him which he was found guilty of.
His sentencing is yet to take place.
