Usher gets the fever

Usher has been lined up to star in a "Night Fever" homage.

R&B star Usher is reportedly set to star in an urban version of dance movie classic "Saturday Night Fever".

Usher will don his dancing shoes to play the Travolta-style lead in "Step in the Name of Love", a modern black version of the 1970s disco hit.

"Step in the Name of Love" will reportedly focus on the step dancing movement- a Chicago derivative of swing dancing.

If the deal goes through with MGM, the singer will executive produce the film alongside his manager mother, Jonnetta Patton.

Usher has previously starred in teen flicks "The Faculty" and "She's All That". Later this year, he plays singer Jackie Wilson in "Unchain My Heart: The Ray Charles Story", starring Jamie Foxx.
