Amanda HoldenÂ’s agent has confirmed that the BritainÂ’s Got Talent judge has lost her baby.
The TV star was seven months pregnant when she went to hospital because the baby had stopped moving.
Holden and her husband, Chris Hughes, are said to be “utterly devastated”.
The couple’s spokeswoman, Alison Griffin, said: “Amanda had been closely monitored throughout her pregnancy and it is not yet known what went wrong.
"Both Chris and Amanda would like to thank the midwives and staff at The Queen Mary Maternity unit at West Middlesex Hospital Isleworth for their tremendous support.”
Support has been flooding in for the star via social networking site, Twitter, with former BritainÂ’s Got Talent judge, Piers Morgan, posting:
“So desperately sad for my special friend - sending her and Chris my love and prayers at this horrible time.”
Other celebrities posting messages of support included James Corden, Lorraine Kelly, Carol Vorderman and Richard Madeley.
The 39-year-old only announced her pregnancy in January. The couple have a five-year-old daughter together.
