Justin Timberlake is to undergo surgery to save his voice.
The heartthrob has been diagnosed with throat nodules - painful growths on the vocal cords caused by overstretching.
The sexy chart-topper, who is planning to voice a part in 'Shrek 3', reportedly noticed the problem when recording his latest single.
A friend told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "He hadn't sung much for ages. He pretty much stopped over the last year to focus on acting.
"But recently he's been in the studio again making his latest single, 'Signs', with Snoop Dogg. That's when he realised there was a problem with his voice."
Justin will have to quit singing and talk as little as possible for three months.
Meanwhile, the pop star and his fiancée Cameron Diaz have denied they are to marry next weekend.
The celebrity pair were reported to be tying the knot in a star-studded ceremony at a luxury hotel in the south of France, according to Britain's News of the World newspaper.
But Diaz's publicist, Brad Cafarelli, yesterday (03.05.05) claimed the reports were "totally false".
