As Mick Jagger’s new biography continues to shed light in the wild life of the Rolling Stones rockstar, more dish on the women in Mick’s life is revealed. After author Christopher Andersen revealed the Mick Jagger-Angelina Jolie affair, he once again links another controversial name to the 'Satisfaction' musician: no other than Princess Margaret. 

 

Reports say that Mick had a special closeness with Princess Margaret, and this attracted the Queen’s disapproval of the superstar. Speculations are especially fueled considering how the Queen had opposed propositions that Mick be knighted. 

 

For five years, Prime Minister Tony Blair, who allegedly looks to Mick as his hero, had repeatedly proposed the musician for a knighthood, but all his efforts were met by the Queen’s disapproval.  

 

This was in spite of the fact that the Queen had willingly knighted other rockstars including Paul McCartney and Elton John. 

 

Unlike the two other knighted rockstars, however, Mick has few charitable causes under his belt, despite the fact that he has amassed a huge fortune. He is also far from patriotic as he has been living abroad since the 70s reportedly to escape having to pay taxes. 

 

But recent reports say that those are not the only reasons why the Queen does not want Mick knighted. According to new revelations, the Queen disliked Jagger because of his special relationship with the former’s younger sister, the carefree Princess Margaret. The affair reportedly began when Margaret was married Lord Snowdon and Jagger was dating Chrissie Shrimpton. 

 

According to insiders, despite Mick’s repeated mocking of the Royal Family, the rockstar actually has very high social ambitions. That is, he ‘wanted to be one of them’, says his friend and publicist Keith Altham. This made the Princess his most important royal contact. 

 

Although there is no confirmation that the two had been lovers, some suspected that they were. The apparent truth, however, was that the two had been friends for more than 40 years, and the Queen is believed to have thought of Mick as a ‘corrupting influence’ on her sister.

 

The Queen somehow couldn’t face the fact that knighting Mick was inescapable, but she managed to get out of the ceremony by having elective surgery on her left knee that very day. Sir Michael Jagger was knighted by Prince Charles in 2003.
