Lord Sugar recently announced on Twitter that he has signed up for another two series of The Apprentice. 

 

By the end of the proposed two series, he will have done the popular reality show for more than a decade. 

 

He made the count himself by tweeting, “I have agreed to do two more series of The Apprentice, making it ten years.”

 

The eighth series, which ended in June, saw pro wrestler Ricky Martin become the Amstrad founder’s business partner. He received a £250,000 investment.

 

Lord Sugar has been hosting The Apprentice since the British TV show started in 2005. The show has a group of young businessmen and women compete for a chance to win a job that makes them an apprentice to British magnate, Lord Sugar. The job will pay them £100,000 a year. 

 

Winners of the show have indeed gone on to work at Amstrad, Sugar’s electronics manufacturing company, or at other companies he founded, including Viglen, Amsprop, and Amshold. 

 

In the seventh series, the prize changed to a £250,000 investment instead of a £100,000 annual salary. 

 

The Apprentice has a US version, which stars entrepreneur Donald Trump. Both versions are produced by Mark Burnett. 

 

The ninth and tenth series of the British version will air in 2013 and 2014, respectively.
