Corrie star Kate Ford has found the true price of fame, as a fan keeps sending her letters with 50p in them.
The Street actress, 27, who plays Tracy Barlow, is receiving as many as three packages a week packed with a ten pence piece and two 20s. There is no note with them.
"It's a bit weird. I keep getting sent an envelope three times a week with 50p in it. I don't know who it's from though," Ford said on Johnny Vaughan's BBC show.
The packages are sent to Granada's Manchester office and then forwarded to the actress.
A spokeswoman for Coronation Street told the Daily Mirror: "Kate's been putting the money in a penny jar to save for her retirement.
"We get some very strange letters and take this kind of thing very seriously.
"We screen all mail sent in from fans and if the letters to Kate become more sinister we would not hesitate to take the matter further."
