After New Zealand held the world premiere of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, the UK screening of the latest Tolkien saga was held in London. The cast took to the streets of London on Wednesday night where hundreds of fans were anxiously waiting.
Cate Blanchett, who plays Galadriel in the Middle Earth drama film, led the glamour on the green carpet. Expecting a colder temperature, she wore a stylish floor-length winter white gown. The 43-year-old actress finished off her look with her blonde locks in a simple up ‘do’.
The actress was joined by co-star Sir Ian McKellan, who recently confirmed he was diagnosed with prostrate cancer six to seven years ago. Although the 73-year-old actor confirmed that he hasn’t got any treatment for the disease yet, he said it is regularly monitored and it is contained.
Several actors and people in the entertainment industry, including boyband McFly, braved the freezing temperature to attend the premiere. Prince William also showed up without his wife, Princess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton who is still battling acute morning sickness.
