Alec Baldwin has become a part of the growing number of celebrities to donate funds to help the victims and communities that were badly affected by superstorm Sandy that hit America’s East Coast last October.
Alec Baldwin’s foundation will divert art-related funds to civic centers and libraries to ensure that victims have a place where they can study and congregate while they’re rebuilding their lives.
Baldwin took to Twitter to announce the news and to encourage other people to help the victims. His series of posts read: "My foundation is diverting arts-related funding 2 (sic) Sandy relief. The first recipients are libraries in East Hampton, Montauk, Amagansett. and Sag Harbor.
"We will send $250,000 to these institutions, as well as $250,000 to the Millcreek Community Center in Stafford Township, New Jersey.
"Such community centers served, and still serve, as hubs for the elderly, civic organisations.
"There is more to do if you wish to give, whatever you can, to relief groups or community centers that provide assistance, please do so now".
