The Duchess of Cambridge finally received recognition for her contributions to her husband and brother-in-law’s charity. Prince William and his brother Prince Harry have decided to change the name of their personal charity to reflect Kate Middleton’s active involvement. The said cause, which used to be known as the Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry, is now called The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry, making Kate an official joint partner.
The foundation was set up back in 2009 to raise funds for the two brothers’ favourite causes. In October of 2011, Kate was made a joint patron of the charity, but this was not followed by a change in the official name of the foundation.
But now it looks like decisions have been changed, and the new official name has just been incorporated into all the articles pertaining to the foundation.
Reports say that the new name was approved during a meeting of the charity’s trustees held last week.
The charity, which became Kate’s first official charitable involvement, focuses on causes associated with young people, members of the Armed Forces, and their families.
Kate, however, is also involved with four other charities, which she took up in January of this year. These charities are Action on Addiction, East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices, the Art Room, and the National Portrait Gallery. She also volunteers in the Scout Association.
On top of this, the royal foundation also administered the Royal Wedding Charitable Gift Fund after the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge was married. The fund, which was collected from a polo match attended by the couple during their North America tour as well as from the sale of the official wedding programme, was distributed in donations to a total of 26 charities.
With all these on her plate, it seems pretty clear that Kate Middleton is the official queen of charity.
