Innocent cab driver Claire Peacock is set to become embroiled in Corrie taxi wars now that Streetcars boss Steve McDonald has got on the wrong side of thug Jimmy Clayton.
Claire, played by Julia Haworth, used to be a nanny, but didn't think that becoming a Streetcars driver would put her in any particular danger.
But Steve, played by Simon Gregson, became infatuated with his new driver Ronnie without realising she was the ex-wife of gangland tough nut Jimmy.
The gangster, played by David Crellin, sends his nasty son Nick to threaten Claire while she's in her cab with her little son Joshua.
And all because he's a bit jealous of little Steve enjoying the company of his former spouse.
Claire's husband Ashley, played by Steven Arnold, is terrified for his wife's safety and hands in her resignation without telling her, but she's incandescent as she wants to stand up to the bullying bad boys.
A Corrie source told the Daily Star: "She is furious to discover Ashley has handed in her resignation and demands her job back.
"Claire is adamant that she won't be intimidated out of a job she loves doing."
