Danny Baldwin's father shock

Danny Baldwin is left stunned when he discovers boss Mike Baldwin is his father - in a sensational new 'Coronation Street' storyline.

Danny, played by Bradley Walsh, discovers the truth about his father when the two Underworld factory bosses clash during a staff strike.

After arguing about the situation, Mike - portrayed by 70-year-old Johnny Briggs - blurts out that he is Danny's real dad and not his uncle as he previously believed.

The news comes as a further blow to the cocky Danny who has just been dumped by wife Frankie after she discovered he was having an affair with his son Jamie's girlfriend Leanne Battersby, played by Jane Danson.

A 'Street' insider said: "As Danny struggles to come to terms with what he's been told, viewers will feel a little sympathy with him after what he did to Jamie."

However, it is not yet known whether the shock will lead Danny back into the arms of estranged wife Frankie, played by Debra Stephenson.

The insider added: "Viewers will be left wondering whether Frankie will forgive Danny and provide the shoulder he needs to cry on."
