Fresh from its recovery from the chaos caused by Typhoon Desmond, Britain is expecting a fresh weather system - tipped to be called Eva - that will bring 90mph winds and two inches of rain.
Forecasters warn the Eva could fall in parts with the worst-hit regions from Desmond's weekend assault again in the firing line.
80mph gales, heavy rain, and snow forecast have been forecasted up to the weekend.
Forecaster Lindsay Mears said: "The north and west unfortunately again will be affected by heavy rain and gales moving through on Tuesday.
"On Wednesday there is another system moving in bringing further strong winds again to the north and west.
"The worst of the weather will be in the north and west this week with the south much drier and milder."
"Things start to calm down by the end of the week."
James Madden, forecaster for Exacta Weather, added: "Another unsettled week is in store for many as low pressure dominates and this will bring the additional risk of flooding in parts of northern and north-west England.
"Rain will be accompanied by some strong winds likely to be in excess of 80 to 90mph in northern and western areas throughout Wednesday.
"It will also feel much cooler further north and the rain is likely to turn to snow across higher ground with some significant accumulations becoming likely.
"Some sleet and snow showers will also develop in some northern and western areas throughout the week, and by next weekend the snow risk increases to parts of Northern England."
