Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler has booked himself into a rehab a centre, it has been reported.
The 61-year-old has allegedly sought help for an addiction to painkillers.
In a statement, Tyler said: "I am taking responsibility for the management of my pain."
He went on to tell Rolling Stone magazine that he is "eager to be back on the stage and in the recording studio with my bandmates".
Tyler also stated that he had no intention of leaving the band.
"I wish to set the record straight and say that I have read reports of a rumoured two-year hiatus and want to be clear that this is completely false.
"I will enthusiastically be writing, recording and performing with Aerosmith as soon as things are handled.
"I love Aerosmith and I love performing as the lead singer in Aerosmith. I am grateful for all of the support and love I am receiving and am committed to getting things taken care of."
Daughter Liv has shown support for her father and said she is proud that he is getting the help he needs.
"My family and I are in complete support of my dad's decision to seek treatment. He is a courageous man.
We love him and are so proud that he is getting help to balance his pain management, not just for himself but for his family, friends and fans."
In 2008, the singer went into rehab for a dependency on pain and sleep medication.
