It was a big night for Stella McCartney as she went home with not just one but two major awards at British Fashion Awards. She was awarded Designer of the Year and Designer Brand of the Year.
Sir Paul McCartney’s daughter, who’s already a mother to four kids, set up her eponymous label in 2011. The awards presumably made 2012 more fulfilling for the designer. Earlier this year, she and her team were noticed for their Team GB kit designs for the London 2012 Olympic games.
Other winners included Alexa Chung (British Style), Sophie Hulme (Emerging Talent Award/accessories), Jonathan Saunders (Emerging Talent Award/Menswear), Harold Tillman CBE (Special Recognition), Louise Wilson OBE (Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator), Cara Delevingme (Model), and Kim Jones for Louis Vuitton (Menswear Designer).
Nick Grimshaw and Gemma Arterton hosted the event. It was attended by the industry’s most important personalities, including Valention, BFC Ambassador Samantha Cameron, and Sarah Burton.
