A string of Hollywood actresses are reportedly in negotiations to star in a remake of 1939 comedy The Women.
Shooting on the flick begins in February and Annette Bening has been cast as the wronged woman, originally played by Norma Shearer, Variety reports.
Uma Thurman will reportedly star in the Joan Crawford part of the husband-stealer, while Meg Ryan, Sandra Bullock and Ashley Judd will also appear as characters that are composites of some in the original.
But there should be room for all of them as the 1939 original, based on a 1937 play, had 130 roles - all played by women.
Diane English, who wrote the script, will make her directorial debut with the remake and Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger will produce and supervise the soundtrack,
