Star Wars trailer released

This week sees the release of the first trailer for the third Star Wars prequel.

Star Wars fans in the US will get a chance to see the first trailer for Episode III - Revenge of the Sith this week.

According to gossip on the web the teaser contains some impressive battle scenes and a first look at the iconic film baddie Darth Vader.

The third prequel charts Anakin Skywalker's decent to the dark side of the force.

After battling with his former mentor, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Skywalker joins forces with the Emperor to hunt down the Jedi and dispose of the Old Republic.

Director George Lucas has been criticised for the last two prequels, which relied heavily on computer generated special effects.

However, the third instalment of one of the most lucrative movie franchises of all time will still get fans flocking to the cinemas next summer.

The trailer goes out in the US tomorrow. There is no news yet on when British fans will get a chance to see it.
