Friends Sam Smith and Taylor Swift will go head to head at Billboard Music Awards after they each receive four nominations, as announced by rapper Ludacris and Fall Out Boy rocker Pete Wentz on Good Morning America today.
The stars will go head-to-head for the Top Billboard 200 Album and Top 100 Song Award and they will go against Ariana Grande, One Direction, and Katy Perry for the Top Artist prize. Taylor is also in the running for the Top Female Artist competing with Katy, Ariana Grande, and fellow Top Hot 100 Song nominees Iggy Azalea and Meghan Trainor.
Meanwhile, Sam is up for the Top Male Artist alongside Ed Sheeran, Drake, Pharrell Williams, and Justin Timberlake.
Other nominees will be announced today via the event’s official Twitter page by Chrissy Teigen.
The 2015 Billboard Music Awards will be held at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on 17 May.
