Russell Brand and Ginger Spice Geri Halliwell both have big personalities, so it seems like they’ve met their match in each other following reports that the two are now dating. 

 

News of a budding relationship sparkedon Tuesday, after the two were seen on several dates following the Olympics closing ceremony where they both performed.

 

Shortly after the ceremony, Russell posed for a photo with the Spice Girls backstage and admitted he had a crush on Halliwell. He said: “I’ve got a crush on Geri Halliwell – everything in the world is how it should be.”

 

The ‘crush’ turned out to be quite strong, prompting him to dump his girlfriend Isabella Brewster enabling him to pursue the fiery Spice Girl. 

 

The two have been seen hooking up on a ‘romantic date on Hamstead Heath’ just days after the ceremony, and were also spotted sightseeing at Hampton Court Palace with Geri’s daughter Bluebell. 

 

According to a source: “Things are getting very serious between them – they’re a proper couple now. They had met several times in the past, but really got to know each other during the Olympics.”

 

It’s not the first time that Russell sparked up a high-profile relationship following a major showbiz event. He and former wife Katy Perry had met at the MTV Video Music Awards and got married a year later. They split over Christmas last year, after which Brand started seeing Brewster. 

 

However, a source close to Geri told the Daily Mail the two are ‘just friends and have been out a few times’ but that there is ‘not much else to add at this stage’.
