Roger Moore has warned James Bond fans to give new 007, Daniel Craig, a chance.
The legendary star - who played the dashing spy in seven movies - says he can't understand why Craig is being lambasted for being a bad Bond when nobody has seen 'Casino Royale' yet.
He said: "He is a really good actor. So why attack him?"
Moore's plea comes after a group of disgruntled 007 enthusiasts asked people to log on to website www.craignotbond.com and voice their displeasure at the decision to replace Pierce Brosnan with Craig.
A statement on the site reads: "EON Productions angered fans around the world when they fired Pierce Brosnan at the height of his popularity.
"To add insult to injury, EON cast a short, blond, odd-looking Daniel Craig in the role of Bond. He is a terrible choice for Bond.
"If EON Productions and Sony Pictures will not accept they've made a big mistake, then Bond fans promise to boycott 'Casino Royale'!"
However, 72-year-old Moore suggested the group could be organising a boycott just to draw attention to their website.
