Rod Stewart was forced to cancel his London concert on Monday night (09.05.05) after contracting a "severe" throat infection.
The 60-year-old star - who has battled throat cancer in the past - was told by doctors to rest until his next show, which takes place today (11.05.05).
The rocker's spokesperson said: "Rod has been forced to postpone his first London engagement at Earls Court tonight because of a severe viral throat infection."
Stewart first became ill after playing three performances in Glasgow and two in Manchester.
In 2002, Rod was forced to cancel two shows because of throat infections, and in 2000 confessed to having a nine month battle with throat cancer.
At the time, the millionaire singer was immediately admitted to hospital for emergency surgery, to remove the malignant growth.
After the operation Rod lost his unique rasping singing voice which he returned after nine months.
He still has more than 14 shows booked in Britain until July.
