Robbie Williams reportedly threatened to break the legs of a photographer who tried to snap him at the airport.
The heartthrob singer allegedly told paparazzi Dennis Stone that he would order a mafia-style attack after jetting in to Britain's Heathrow airport from Los Angeles at the weekend.
The grey-haired snapper, who has been photographing celebrities for more than 40 years revealed: "He told me 'I can pay to have someone break your legs.' He was angry and I didn't know if he was going to hit me.
"I'm not big enough to take care of myself - I'm an old man and I don't like agro."
A friend of the former boyband singer blasted reports he had threatened the 72-year-old man, claiming Mr. Stone must have misheard what Robbie said.
He explained: "What Robbie actually said was: 'If your editor told you to break my legs, would you do it?'"
The 30-year-old star, whose face was hidden behind a bizarre orange scarf, was flying in to his native country for a performance at the Brit awards in London's Earls Court on Wednesday (09.02.05) where he will perform his classic hit 'Angels'.
However, Robbie will take to the stage alone after he was snubbed by former Smiths singer Morrissey, who refused to join him for a planned duet to mark the event's 25th anniversary.
A source said: "It was all set to go then Morrissey decided it was not the right thing for him to do."
