Reese Witherspoon and husband arrested and detained briefly

Jim Toth was arrested for DUI while Reese was arrested for “disorderly conduct."

Couple Jim Toth and Reese Witherspoon have been arrested and briefly detained. On Friday morning last week, Jim was arrested for DUI, while Reese’s arrest was for “disorderly conduct.”

According to reports, Toth was stopped by a patrol car under suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. He was apprehended for driving recklessly across Peachtree Street in Atlanta. He reportedly blew .139 on the sobriety test. 

Meanwhile, his wife, Hollywood actress Reese Witherspoon, was arrested for disorderly conduct. According to the police, Reese refused to stay inside the car when requested to do so. She is alleged to have said: “Do you know my name? You’re about to find out who I am. You’re about to be on national news.”

On Sunday, Reese apologised for her behavior. Her statement reads: "I clearly had one drink too many and I am deeply embarrassed about the things I said.  It was definitely a scary situation and I was frightened for my husband, but that is no excuse."

The couple is expected to appear in court on May 22nd and May 23nd.
