Oscar winning actor Robert Redford has married his long-term partner in a secret ceremony, it has been revealed.
A German church has confirmed that its pastor presided over the wedding which saw just 30 guests attend the union of Redford, 71, and German artist Sibylle Szaggars, 51.
Renate Massfeller, of St. Catherine Church in Hamburg, stated that Pastor Frank Engelbrecht conducted the ceremony over the weekend at the lavish Louis C. Jacob Hotel.
The couple have been dating since 1996 and reside on Redford's 5,500 acre eco-friendly ranch on a mountain resort he owns in Sundance, Utah.
Since the 1990s he has held the famous Sundance Film Festival there, taking the name from his character of The Sundance Kid from the 1969 film 'Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid'.
Following his star-making turn alongside Paul Newman, Redford went on to become one of the biggest actors of the 1970s. He turned his hand to directing in 1980 with 'Ordinary People' which landed him a Best Director Oscar.
Redford and Szaggars became engaged last March, marking Redford's second marriage. He was previously married to Lola Van Wagenen, up until their divorce in 1985.
The couple have a son Jamie, 46, as well as two daughters: Shauna, 48, and Amy, 38. They also lost another son, Scott, to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.
