A third film in the 'Bridget Jones' franchise is currently in development, it has been confirmed.
Production company Working Title have said the film is currently in the "very early stages" of production.
It is still unknown who will write and direct the new film, however, according to Variety, it could be based on columns author Helen Fielding wrote in 2005 and 2006 for The Independent.
It is yet to be confirmed whether or not Renee Zellweger will reprise her role as Bridget, which she first played in 'Bridget Jones's Diary' (2001) and 'The Edge of Reason' (2004).
Zellweger was nominated for an Oscar for her part in the first film which made £171.5m worldwide. The second film was also a huge success taking £159m.
The first two films were based on books of the same name by Fielding.
