If you think that Manchester is Britain’s wettest city, you better think again. Based on the analysis of Met Office climate records from 1981, Manchester, which is known as “the Rainy City” barely makes the top 10. Its averages just 86.7cms of rain every year.
Meanwhile, Cardiff, which averages to 115cms every year has been named Britain’s wettest city.
Glasgow (112cms) is second, Preston (103.4cms) third, and Huddersfield (102.8cms) fourth. Manchester comes in eighth - behind Plymouth and Blackpool, too.
Meanwhile, London is the driest place in country getting just 56cms a rain each year. It is closely followed by Ipswich, Cambridge, and Middlebrough.
