Prince is being sued for 1.7 Euros, it has been reported.
A High Court action has been started against the singer after he cancelled a Dublin gig.
Promoter MCD are suing Prince for compensation after he cancelled the event in 2008 at the city's Croke Park concert.
The court heard that he is claiming his agents did not have the authorisation to enter into an agreement for him to perform at the event.
However, the agents maintain that Prince gave 'no reason of substance' to back out of the music event.
The Dublin date had been heavily advertised as the last time Prince would play greatest hits like Diamonds And Pearls and Little Red Corvette in Ireland.
Over 55,000 tickets had been sold, and thousands of angry fans demanded refunds when it was cancelled.
The 'Purple Rain' star, whose real name is Prince Rogers Nelson, is being sued for financial loss and damage to commercial reputation by MCD.
