Pop star arrested

Sugababe Amelle Berrabah has been arrested and charged with drink driving.

The 26-year-old was pulled over by police officers in North London at 5:23am last Thursday, following an alleged row with her boyfriend.

The star took to Twitter this weekend, however, to put across her side of the story:

She tweeted: "I can't believe what's being said! I'm so sad this has happened to me.

"I got up to do my normal 6am jog. I'd been out the night before for drinks with friends and got stopped on my way to meet my personal trainer and it was obviously still in my system.”

Berrabah is currently recording the follow up to the SugababesÂ’ recent album, Sweet 7, which is due for release later this year.

The singer is due to appear at Highbury Corner MagistratesÂ’ Court on 8 October, charged with driving with excess alcohol.
