Fred Talbot, aged 63, the well-known TV weatherman who works for ITV Granada Reports, had his Manchester house raided because of allegations of abuse that have supposedly taken place. Police searched the presenter’s property but no arrest has been made.
This is in connection with sex abuse claims that relate to the period when Mr. Talbot was a teacher at Altrincham Boys Grammar School, Manchester. The police investigation is looking into supposed offences that took place, allegedly involving a member of staff.
A spokesperson from Greater Manchester Police said: “The offences under investigation didn’t occur within school grounds but allegedly involved a member of staff.”
Mr. Talbot is known for using a giant map, which floated on water at the Albert Docks in Liverpool, when he presented the weather. He worked on TV programme This Morning which was hosted by Richard and Judy.
It is understood that police executed the warrant to search his house on 11th December.
Mr. Talbot posted a message on the social network site Twitter on 10th December saying: “Land at last. After six days at sea St Kitts.”
This comes after the weatherman had been sailing in the Atlantic Ocean after leaving Madeira, according to reports.
