Brad Pitt will leave the Bronze Age and move to the Wild West with a new film.
Pitt's plays swift-footed Achilles in his latest film "Troy", but reports indicate he has signed on to play Jesse James, according to Variety.
The production company he runs with his wife, Jennifer Aniston, has lined up the project. The film is an adaptation of Robert Hansen's book "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford". The book follows the fortunes of the celebrated outlaw, told from the point of view of the man who kills him.
Andrew Dominik, responsible for the critically acclaimed "Chopper", is lined up to direct.
Pitt looks set to play James, Aniston will produce - aided by Tony and Ridley Scott. "Plan B" - the Anistons' production company - will work with Warner Brothers on the project.
