A recent survey has revealed that a third of Brits would not ditch their phone for £50,000 cash. The survey, which was conducted for casino LeoVegas.com asked the participants how much money it would take for them to give up their phone for one year.
34per cent of the participants were “incredibly reluctant” and said would rather spurn a huge payday to hang on their phone. However, 7per cent said that they would do it for £1million. When asked how much it would take to ditch their partners for a year, with no guarantee of getting them back, 14per cent said it would take just £500. However, 36per cent would only accept £1m or more.
Brian Tredgold, 34, of Hastings, East Sussex, said: "It would take £5,000 for me to get rid of my phone for a year, but I'd happily accept £500 in exchange for my other half and I am sure she'd say the same for me!"
Shenaly Amin, UK country manager for LeoVegas.com, said: "We weren't surprised to see just how much technology has become an integral part of people's lives. We are now able to use mobile devices to do a huge variety of tasks."
