Patsy to be killed off

'Emmerdale' bitch Sadie King is to be killed off in a car crash.

The sexy blonde, played by Patsy Kensit, will die after her vehicle spins out of control during an in-car row with former love Cain Dingle.

The rogue, actor Jeff Hordley, heartlessly flees the scene of the accident, before leaving the village for good - in a shock departure from the soap.

An insider told Britain's Sunday Mirror newspaper: "It's a horrific crash. Viewers will be hooked. And it's not only Patsy who's going - Cain will be leaving too."

Patsy's decision to leave the popular show is a huge blow to bosses who were desperate to keep her after her portrayal of the meddling seductress proved a hit with viewers.

The insider added: "Bosses are gutted with Patsy's decision to leave, but killing her off is going to be a huge ratings gain. And Cain's exit is going to make it a double shock."

The crash will take place after the pair speed away from an explosion at the King family's housing development - which will kill off a further six characters who are as yet unknown.

Patsy is set to join BBC1 medical drama 'Holby City' after her dramatic exit this summer.
