Pamela Anderson went ape after being asked to star opposite a chimpanzee in her new TV show.
The former 'Baywatch' babe, who is an adamant supporter of animal rights, refused to work with the trained animal on new sitcom 'Stacked' just for the sake of a few laughs.
She said: "I asked them to lose the chimp. We ended up replacing him with a robot."
In the show, the sexy actress stars opposite Christopher Lloyd, who plays a retired scientist previously responsible for sending primates into space.
Last month, it was revealed Pammy had teamed up with protestors to boycott US fast-food giants KFC.
The vegetarian beauty narrates a five minute video, produced by prominent animal rights group PETA, about the mistreatment of chickens served in the chain's eateries.
The film can currently be seen on website www.KentuckyFriedCruelty.com and a 30 second version - which features graphic images of chickens being mistreated at a plant that supplies KFC - has been made for broadcast on American TV and radio.
