Nicole Kidman hates possessions.
The Hollywood actress, who commands more than $10 million a movie, says she lives a frugal existence because she never stays anywhere long enough to put down roots.
She said: "I still don't really have a place to live, so I try not to have too much stuff.
"I used to have a big house and beautiful art and then I thought, 'I don't want all that.' I don't really keep photos; I tend not to keep a lot of things for posterity."
Meanwhile, the 34-year-old actress, who has two adopted children from her marriage to Hollywood heartthrob Tom Cruise, has revealed she keeps a diary from every film she has worked on.
The Oscar-winning beauty, who has worked with a host of Hollywood stars including Lauren Bacall, Sean Penn and George Clooney, says she makes day-to-day notes so she can give her children a glimpse into her life when they are older.
She added in an interview with Britain's InStyle magazine: "I keep letter diaries from each film for my kids so that one day they can look back and know what I was thinking at the time.
"They give up a lot for me to do what I do."
