Orange, now known as Everything Everywhere, or EE, has now become the number one most complained about broadband provider in the country, according to Ofcom. Based on reports, Orange now ranks number one on Ofcom’s complaint chart, pushing TalkTalk to second position.
Watchdog Ofcom found that for four months during the third period of 2012, Orange received many customer complaints over its internet service. The tally means that Orange is less popular for its broadband product than any other provider.
It is understood that Orange customers have been complaining about the internet service as there are changes thought to have been put in place. This relates to customers with a mobile phone contract not receiving free Orange broadband.
Instead, it is believed that an Orange customer would receive broadband at no extra cost if they are to sign up for line rental at £14 per month.
The reason for the complaints could be because many Orange customers may have expected to receive free broadband until their mobile phone contracts ended.
TalkTalk is the previous broadband provider to have received the most complaints about its internet service. Although, according to reports, Ofcom has found that the number of customer complaints TalkTalk was receiving has fallen from 0.42 to 0.35 in every 1000.
