Nintendo Wii U launches in UK

Nintendo’s major console since 2006 was launched in Britain on November 30.

This is definitely an exciting news for gamers. Nintendo Wii U was officially launched in Britain on November 30; the first major home console launch since 2006.

 

The launch, which was held at HMV’s Oxford Street store, was flocked by about 300 fans who patiently waited to ensure they’ll be among the first people to lay hands on the new console.

 

HMV made sure that nobody goes home empty-handed. They’ve anticipated large crowd following high demand for pre-orders.

But will the Wii U deliver? The console has received mixed reviews in the US. The main concern revolves around the number of games that will be available to users in order to justify the device’s tag price – a hefty £250. Other concerns raised were about weak battery performance, frustrating menus and online services, and a lack of standout launch games.

Nintendo UK marketing director Shelly Pearce was excited about the launch saying: "We can't wait to get the Wii U into the hands of our fans in the UK and are delighted to be partnering with HMV on this exciting night."
