Matt Smith has won the Best Drama Performance trophy at the National TV Awards 2014 while Doctor Who won Best Drama. Another big winner came in the form of entertainment duo Ant & Dec who bagged Best Entertainment Presenter, Best Entertainment program for I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! and also the Landmark accolade, garnering a tribue from Prince Charles.
Meanwhile, the Best Serial Drama Performance was awarded to Julie Hesmondhalgh for her role as Hayley Cropper in Coronation Street, which won the Best Serial Drama Award.
Best Talent Show went to Strictly Come Dancing while TV detective, which is a new category this year, was given to Sherlock’s titular hero played by Benedict Cumberbatch.
