A mother of four-year-old girl has been arrested by the police after her daughter unknowingly brought over 200 bags of heroin into nursery school and handed them to classmates 'like candy'.
Police said that the little girl had the heroin in her backpack that her mother had allegedly given her.
Workers at the Hickory Tree Child Care Centre in Selbyville became concerned after seeing the children holding unknown substances. They then decided to alert the police and medical personnel. The substance was tested at the police station and turned out to be heroin.
30-year-old Delaware resident Ashley Tull, the mother of the 4-year-old girl, was then arrested and is now facing drug offences as well as endangering the welfare of a child.
She is also prohibited to contact her children which include an additional nine-year-old boy and 11-year-old girl who are currently in custody of a relative.
Several children who held packets of heroin were taken to hospital as a precaution but have since been released.
