Mohammed has replaced Jack as the most popular baby name for boys in England and Wales.
The list of the top baby names has been announced, with Mohammed shooting up from third place to claim top spot for newborn boys, with Olivia retaining the top position for girls.
A total of 7,549 boys were named Mohammed, after the Islamic prophet, last year. The name has been steadily growing in popularity over the years, with the number of babies being named after the Mohammed doubling since 1999.
The official list has the name at number 16, due to only one spelling being counted, but this poll takes into account 12 variants and sees Mohammed appear at the top spot.
Last year's top name, Jack, slipped down to third place, being replaced by Oliver, with 7,364 babies given the name. Olivia stayed at the top of the girls' list, with Ruby and Chloe following in second and third place.
There were six new entries in the boys' list: Aiden, Arthur, Frederick, Jude, Stanley and Austin, and just three new girls names: Heidi, Mya and Sara.
The boys list also saw some big risers, with Lucas up 19 places to 17th, Archie climbing 11 places to sit at 20th and Noah jumping up 13 places to 32nd.
