Another star couple go their separate ways...

Gethin Jones and Katherine Jenkins have announced their split, following a ten-month engagement.

The Welsh pair broke the news via their Twitter pages, with Jenkins posting that they were "both beyond broken-hearted".

According to the Mail Online, the pair grew apart, as classical singer Jenkins reportedly put off setting the wedding date and having children to focus on her career:

"Katherine has set herself very demanding goals. She desperately wants to establish herself as a bona fide international star, particularly in America.

"It requires great dedication, single-mindedness and an awful lot of time away from home. You try to keep all the balls in the air, but inevitably something has to give.

"I think, in the end, Gethin just got tired of asking her [to set a wedding date]. Katherine is upset - they both are - but she's throwing herself into work as usual."

The pair got together three years ago, after they met on the set of Strictly Come Dancing.
