Michelle Ryan turns down pop deal

'EastEnders' babe Michelle Ryan has turned down several offers to become a pop star.

The sexy actress, who plays Zoe Slater, grew up in musical theatre and has been offered several recording contracts - but she has no intention of becoming another soap star-turned-singer.

She revealed: "I have had the odd person saying, 'Listen, it would be great for you to do this.' But I'm like, 'No, it would be great for you if I did that, not for me.'

"No, I'll leave it to the professional singers."

Previous 'EastEnders' stars to have released singles include Shane Richie, who plays Alfie Moon, Anita Dobson, who played Angie Watts and Martine McCutcheon, who played Tiffany Mitchell.

Former stars Sid Owen (Ricky Butcher), Sophie Lawrence (Diane Butcher) and Sean Maguire (Aiden Brosnan) have also tried - and failed - at launching a pop career.
