The 47-year-old man who was convicted of abducting and murdering April Jones, aged 5, in Wales has been attacked by an inmate in prison, according to reports.
It has been reported that an inmate attacked Mark Bridger with a makeshift blade in Wakefield prison at the weekend.
Bridger was taken to hospital to be given stitches, as reported by The Sun.
Bridger was given life in jail after being found guilty of abducting, sexually abusing and murdering April, before disposing of her body in October. Her body has not been found.
His sentence was given to him by judge Mr. Justice Griffith Williams following the jury’s decision.
The schoolgirl went missing from Machynlleth, in Wales, in October last year. A large search mission took place and many members of the public helped with the search.
Wakefield is situated in West Yorkshire, England, near to Leeds and Huddersfield.
