Madonna has hired two foreign nannies - because she is desperate for her children to grow up bilingual.

The pop star allegedly insists the French child-minders talk to nine-year-old Lourdes and five-year-old Rocco in their native tongue.

Earlier this year, it was revealed the singer has banned her children from watching TV and eating junk food.

The star admits she is a tough mom with strict rules.

She said: "My kids don't watch TV. TV is trash. I was raised without it. We don't have magazines or newspapers either."

She added: "My daughter has a problem with tidiness. So when she leaves her clothes on the floor, we put them in a rubbish bag. She has to earn them back by being tidy."
