Paul Danan, the bit-part soap actor who gained notoriety on ITV's Celebrity Love Island, has found himself in the spotlight again but for all the wrong reasons.
The bewitchingly volatile Danan has been accused of stealing a pair of underpants, from London's trendy outfitters, Zara, in Covent Garden.
Danan purchased a suit from the store it and went to leave the store with his friend, but a security alarm sounded and he was speedily apprehended by security guards.
The tearful Danan then pleaded with the manager not to call the police over the attempted theft of the 9 boxer shorts.
A source told the Sun: "He kept saying, 'Look in my wallet, I've got cash'."
The situation was resolved amicably, as Paul persuaded the manager that it was an innocent mistake.
The liability later revealed: "Unfortunately I forgot I was still wearing the boxers and left the store.
"Zara were really cool about it and, of course, I paid for the boxers."
Paul's unfortunate skirmish almost puts him alongside the likes of Hollywood star Winona Ryder, who was found guilty of shoplifting half a wardrobe of clothes from an LA store. In her defence, she said she was researching for an upcoming film role of a kleptomaniac.
Talk show presenter and the preening half of Richard and Judy, Richard Madeley, was also accused of trying to steal alcohol from a supermarket in 1990, though he later managed to clear his name.
