The EastEnders set is obviously a romantic place to be as two cast members are about to tie the knot.

Hannah Waterman, who played Laura Beale up until last year, and Ricky Groves, who plays mechanic Garry, have announced that they are to marry after going out for five years.

The couple are due to wed at some point next year, after Ricky, 37, proposed to 29-year-old Hannah while on holiday in Barbados.

"They are ecstatically happy," Hannah's agent Dawn Green told the Daily Mirror.

On-screen, the couple shared a scandalous affair after Laura got pregnant with Garry's child while still involved with Ian Beale.

Whether the real-life engagement leads to any similar scenarios, remains to be seen.
