Lord Alan Sugar recently introduced 12 new contestants for this year’s series of Young Apprentice who will battle it out to win the £25,000 business development fund to kick-start their careers.
Comprising of an eclectic bunch of individuals coming from the UK, Kenya, and Paris, the eight episodes look set to make for interesting viewing.
Contestants include Former Head Girl and budding politician Navdeep Bual, who is UK’s Young Ambassador for the Global Education, and Maria Doran, who has reportedly said she may look like an angel but have the heart of a lioness.
Other contestants are said to include a farmer’s daughter, a worker from a fish and chip shop, a cake business owner, a vintage and collectable seller, and a young entrepreneur who at the age 13, had already set up his own business.
The cut-throat competition will see the young apprentices battle it out in a series of tasks designed to test their business acumen. The group is expected to stay in a luxury mansion in Hampstead, North London as they prepare to face Lord Sugar and his advisers, Nick Hewer and Karren Brady.
Lord Sugar tells the hopefuls in the first episode, as reported by the Mail Online: “We’ve got whole countries going bankrupt and I believe it is young people like you who will bring prosperity back to this country.
“I don’t like teacher’s pets and I don’t like school bullies. This is about the real world. I’m not making you sit exams – the only grade you’ll get here is ‘F’ for Fired.”
