Lily Savage is set to shake up Emmerdale when she turns up as a Dingle.

Paul O'Grady, who plays the television drag queen, is in talks to play the gay Dingle - according to the Daily Star.

"It's all very top secret but Paul would be the gay Dingle that no one talks about," a soap insider told the tabloid.

"He's the family's skeleton in the cupboard. After all these hillbillies are into boozing, heterosexual lust, and thieving in no particular order.

"A Dingle who likes to sleep with men would be an absolute outcast," he added.

And the man whose alter ego is Lily Savage is favourite for the part.

"There have been talks and Paul would like a role on a temporary basis. He loves soaps and he could have tremendous fun playing the outcast Dingle," The Star was told.
